Machine Overview
This dedicated four-axis machine polishes gently curved, non-rotational stone components. Coordinated motion and pneumatic floating contour following adjust the polishing head angle to the surface while accommodating variations in blank allowance, helping reduce missed areas, over-polishing and blending marks.
Workpieces & Applications
Suitable for concave and convex curved panels, curved kerbs, coping stones, curved monument surfaces and profiled stone mouldings. Applications include public works, landscaping and architectural cladding. Small-batch custom work should be assessed against the actual curvature and profile.
Core Process
- Four-axis coordination: organises axis movement around the toolpath of a non-rotational curved surface.
- Dynamic angle adjustment: changes the head angle as the surface profile changes.
- Pneumatic floating contour following: accommodates blank-allowance variation to improve contact between head and workpiece.
Key Features
- Improved blending: reduces missed areas, over-polishing and marks between manually finished sections.
- Versatile curved workpieces: covers curved panels, coping and mouldings, with feasibility assessed from drawings.
- Custom production: workpiece-specific fixtures and changeovers support small batches and varied profiles.
- Less repetitive polishing: replaces sustained manual contour following with machine processing.
